about

i make music for the band i hear in my head.
i can see them and their roles in creation.
once a tempo is established it's a matter of temporarily inhabiting their spaces.
i make an extensive patch on the monster, a large modular rig, guiding some pattern creation
.tuning modules to complement each other. this may take a week
and becomes the daily starting point of each composition.
usually, a set of 8 stereo stems are recorded
as a live performance.i rarely do a second take.
accompanying these, i play drums and an assortment of hand percussion
then one by one adding a layer of live keyboard bass, some sparse keys, and minimal guitar.
sometimes i feel like a miner deep underground, on his own, mining a seam of gold.
the preparation, the digging, dragging things out from the earth and carrying them away
to be cleaned and polished and presented.
in the middle of a rich seam, who knows how long it will hold out, but I'm excited to present the latest results.
